The story so far:
Iran almost finished its atomic missile testing, but an Israeli airstrike destroyed the effort.
As a reaction massive waves of terrorist attacks destabilize weak regimes in Iraq, Egypt, Lybia and Turkey.
Hardliners win power through elections and by military coups. They change former bilateral relations from friend to foe.
Irani and Turkish leaders promise their people a fatal dream of a grand state in the dimensions of old Osman or Persian Empires.
Nationalistic and fundamentalist religious parties take over the leaderships of state and act as warmongers to keep up their advantage during constant power struggle.
While european capitals see some severe terrorist bombing, particular political desicions inside the European Union underminded its common policies.
Large countries like Germany and France withdraw their support for the western diplomatic and military effort in the Middle East.
The United States and several european countries like Italy, Spain and Poland rally their support to intervene in the Middle East by force,
while many others like the UK and Greece allocate their military infrastructure for the western allies only.
Up to this point hostile regimes took over most of the Middle East countries one by one, some of them form local alliances with ripparian states sharing common interests.
The planet is in turmoil, the oil prize is climbing up to astronomical heights and starts a severe worldwide recession making other global players like China and Russia intervene and support different war parties secretly to better their supply situation and regional influence.

All of the local parties fight against BLUE (western and allied) forces in the beginning, until particular interests make them fight each other.
Western (Blue) main interests are defending the mediterranean hegemony,
holding access to the oil fields of the persian gulf as well as keeping control over the navigability of the Suez Canal.
