I don't think that had anything to do with it. The determining factor would have been that in one map you played VT and in the other you played Rahl.

I agree with Lucian's analysis. Invite him and have Lucian play defensive.

| No problem! | |

| Not that I compare to Rahl... but I'll give it my best. | |

Ive invited Lucian Rahl and VTTruck to the latest version of that map:
I wont be able to take my turn for a few hours 'cos i'm in work though. |

| Don't worry about it too much. I can only make about one a turn lately anytway. I've picked up a few projects at work and outside of it so I don't have as much time to spend here anymore. | |

While browsing maps, I found these two 'base-less' maps-- both look pretty interesting. King of the Hill by Goat: Onslaught by Pyldrvr: |

Lucian lost, although narrowly. This message was edited 1 time. Last update was at 23/02/2009 09:52:15 |

| the second map is interesting only because it would seem blue gets a positional advantage by starting off so close and moving first. | |

Narrowly my ass.
That bloody upper forest blows. It's more favorable for the attacker. Next time I'm coming forward a few spaces. It also makes it easier to utilize the health pads properly. |

As you wish. I beat the crap out of you. Does that sound better?
Well, first of all, this map is symmetrical. So both players can benefit from that bloody upper forest, but in the opposite parts of the map. Secondly, I am quite happy that the map favors the attacker. Otherwise, the one who sits down and waits would win. That was exactly what we discussed and what I wanted to avoid. In all three games that I played so far the more aggressive of the two players won. Great! |

Good. Rematch! This time I'm going all out.

Sure thing. As soon as either of us has a slot in HQ. |

The big problem with baseless map making is that they promote stalemates.
once you have a good position you are foolish to leave it. |

That's exactly what are trying to address here. And I think there is hope. Invite me for a game on Charge and I will prove that sitting and waiting is not always good. (Sounded confident enough, I hope.)
