I have been preferred by 9 newbs in the last few days. I have not had any contact or games with any of them. Is this some kind of weird weewar spam or stalking?

Probably stalking. There used to be a lot of players whom I felt I knew well, even though I had never, or hardly ever, played them. Because I stalked. And who wouldn't notice, remember and love you, with the distinctive name, prolific chat and a bunch of games named "Fustercluck"?

I am up to 10 now. Looks like none of them have ever taken a turn.

Now that I checked, I seem to have one.

Edit: Kain7 also seems to have one, someone who has not even logged in yet - but has still started two games.

I had a newb invite me to a game, actually played a few turns, never said a word and hasn't come back since. Twas a bit weird.

maybe we can start compiling a list. Could be a sign of an impending spam attack:

To join weewar in August 2011, never take a turn, and then prefer me in October 2012 is just weird. To have 4 people do that is

You must be spedjul. Classic spam-bot behavior from what I can tell. I forget what the reasoning is for showing as never having logged in. I think it has something to do with not having responded to a verification email or something. Spadequack knows.

Somebody optimizing bots to enter Weewar? What a waste of effort. Or (badly paid, presumably) humans trying to do the same? Half-assedly?

I was invited to a game by a trial player (citymurph) who's profile says he hasn't even logged in yet. How is that even possible? Could it be the same kind of thing as these mystery prefers?
