Herby the official release of the weewar battle calculator. it uses binomial statistics and the info obtained from http://www.weewar.com/specifications to calculate the expected results on a battle. It will also show the calculations made so if something gos wrong you can detect it early.
Made possible with the help of beetstreet (debugging) & Casaubon (bonus explaining)

Very nice. I love that you show the math.
As opposed to the calculator on pluto's forge (http://www.plutosforge.com/blog/projects/weewar-battle-simulator)
you show how many units one loses (versus how many are left). Not better or worse but one has to be aware of and get used to that.
Only thing I like better on pluto's forge is the interface (clickedy-click on pretty images).
But pluto's forge was down at some point this morning, so your site is very welcome and in my bookmarks. Thanks for your work!

Yea, i made the calculator mostly for myself. My strategy is basicly a credit strategy where i deside to attack someone if it is profitable (credit wise). thats why i show the units you lose and the cost associated with that

looks great. i think i'd use this instead of my excel spreadsheet.
a couple of notes:
you might want to explain assault damage/defense damage as the expected damage the assaulting or defensing unit receives. i initially thought it was how much they would inflict.
you can try calculating an expected damage based on the probabilities. like a trooper on plains attacking a trooper on swamp will inflict 5.52 damage (and take 4.04). makes it even easier to read if you don't want to know the exact probabilities.

Thanks for the surgestions. I edited the file and applied it.
Also included a in defense -> attacker range check and if a unit is able to be on a specific terain.

What would make it much easier for me to use is if there were the corresponding pictures going along with the terrain and unit types.
Unit types could even be arranged on the same 3-column grid that is used when buying units.
No idea how hard that is to implement or attractive in any way to the creator of this calculator.
Either way, a very useful tool, thanks for that!
