Exactly I noticed that ai_DavidBot was throwing exceptions because of these changes. That stopped it working and I assume the derived bots too.

Where should I have been able to find out about the the changes?

True. We've been planning to document those changes along with other features as we roll out the next patch. We did not manage to get things together as fast as we had in mind. Sorry for that.
