How do I invite players to a game and leave some slots open?

I am creating a 6 player game and trying to invite a few players and leave the slots open. When I set up the game though it reduces the amount of players that can join the game.

Help.

just dont start the game before everyone joined

no, it is not possible to do that. hope this is on top of "whoever is going to work on weewar at some point" 's list. right next to replacing players who join and then abandon before the game even starts...
